SEATTLE – April 9, 2008 – HomeStreet Bank today announced the third annual HomeStreet Bank Small Business Spotlight Awards, offered in conjunction with Mariners Radio/KOMO 1000 News in Seattle and Mariner’s affiliate, KFXX 1080 in Portland, OR. The program recognizes six small businesses in the Puget Sound and Portland regions that demonstrate significant community involvement and are a great place to work.
The program is open to any for-profit business with fewer than 100 employees located in the greater Puget Sound area between Marysville and Olympia or the Greater Portland/Vancouver area.
Chambers of Commerce, Rotaries or other businesses organizations are encouraged to nominate small businesses in their communities. The organization that generates the most Small Business Spotlight nominations will be treated to a Mariners game for sixteen people in the KOMO 1000/Mariners Radio luxury suite at Safeco Field.
The six award recipients will be invited to a special evening of baseball in a luxury suite at Safeco Field on August 1, 2008 when the Seattle Mariners play the Baltimore Orioles. Winners will meet Mariners broadcaster Dave Niehaus and receive a plaque commemorating the evening. Each business will also be profiled on a KOMO “Small Business Spotlight” segment and recognized on the KOMO 1000 and HomeStreet Bank web sites.
“The HomeStreet Bank Small Business Spotlight Awards recognize small businesses that go the extra mile to contribute to their community as well as provide a great place to work,” said Joan Enticknap, president of HomeStreet Bank. “We are happy to be able to publicly honor these business owners as shining examples of great employers and community leaders.”
Businesses may nominate themselves for an award or be nominated by others in their communities. Nomination forms must include a description of the business’ involvement in their community and ways in which they are a great place to work, such as through education benefits or providing a family-friendly work culture.
Nomination forms are available beginning May 5, 2008 at HomeStreet Bank branches and online at www.homestreet.com/spotlight or www.komoradio.com. Completed forms may be submitted online or at HomeStreet Bank branches. Nominations must be received by July 6, 2008 to qualify.
