ABOUT US

The Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce is an independent, non-profit, action agency committed to supporting and advancing the needs of the greater Marysville Tulalip area business communities.

The Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce was established in 1908. In 1993 the Chamber had come to a standstill on the verge of bankruptcy, and was at the center of a community scandal. Through 12 years of dedication, perseverance, tireless work and the development of innovative funding partnerships and grants this Chamber is now debt-free and the pride of the community and its members. In 2002 the Chamber expanded to include a counterpart regional Visitor Information Center that responds to approximately 2,000 information requests from businesses, residents and tourists each month.

In 1996, Chamber leadership expanded the name of its chamber from the Greater Marysville Chamber of Commerce to The Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce. While the Tulalip Tribe was already one of its members, the Chamber wanted to formally recognize and support Tulalip’s growing role in the region's economy, plus it wanted to demonstrate the strength that comes from working together in partnership. To date, it is the first and only U.S. Chamber to partner with a sovereign nation.

n 2001, 2003, and yet again in 2005, The Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce has been honoured for its contributions to the community by the Association of Washington Business (AWB) as recipient of their prestigious Community Service Award in the category of “Projects to Mobilize People into Action.” The 2001 award was in recognition of the Chamber’s history making North County Summits, bringing eight communities together to pool resources and information, fostering economic development efforts in North Snohomish County. The 2003 award recognized the culmination of a ten year project that brought diverse communities and cultures together in a series of history-making partnerships and collaborative ventures to rebuild a dying organization and create a regional, state of the art facility that now serves the needs of local, county, and state wide communities. The facility combines the talent and resources of multiple governments, business communities, labor , civic, and education leaders, youth, elders, churches, and citizens at large to provide an innovative and unprecedented ability to serve all segments of the communities it represents, as well its members. The 2005 award was in recognition of the Chamber’s new Entrepreneurial Business Development Center, which represents a partnership between federal, state and local organizations along with local industry experts, area banks that specialize in SBA and small business loans, and a cadre of trained volunteers.

We are a community problem solver adding a pro-business voice for reason, cooperation and constructive change. Among other things, we serve as a civic clearinghouse, a public relations counselor, a legislative representative at the local, state and national levels of government, an information and referral bureau and a research and promotion medium. We promote our community and its total economy and foster business-government relations to help you operate your business in the best possible environment.

Our ability to attract and retain members through innovative programs and low cost investment rates has won us national recognition from the American Chamber of Commerce Executives. This is because our members consistently realize tangible returns on their investment. Through the aggressive development of non-dues revenue, we successfully hold the line on membership investment costs while continually increasing the scope of membership programs, products and services.

We guarantee that membership in the Chamber is a sound investment in your business, your community, your future.
