Biography for Caldie Rogers - President, CEO

Caldie Rogers is President/CEO of The Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce.  Under her leadership, The Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce walked away from debt and scandal to become one of the most progressive chambers in the state delivering an unprecedented scope of benefits and services.

Her benchmark is vision and dedication to creating history-making partnerships founded in trust that work on behalf of the communities she represents. The first and only chamber to date in the country to reach out and partner with a sovereign nation, the Chamber now serves as a bridge between Marysville and Tulalip uniting both communities in economic development efforts.  This partnership has won state and national attention, promoted as a national role model by the United States Chamber of Commerce and featured at former Governor Lock’s first statewide Economic Development Conference.

Building and expanding upon her faith in partnerships, the Chamber followed its history-making partnership with the Tulalip Tribes with a series of award-winning North County Summits that successfully brought eight warring communities together for the first time in north Snohomish County history to successfully partner on behalf of economic development efforts.  Most recently her Chamber has lead a county-wide Military Family-Friendly Employment Initiative that is bringing every government and chamber of commerce from throughout Snohomish County together to work in partnership to ensure that the employment needs of our country’s Armed Forces family members are met here in Snohomish County.

Today, the chamber’s high tech facility pays testimony to the strength in partnerships. Funded in part through state and county grants as well as city and tribal contracts for service the Chamber assists over 43,000 walk-in visitors and responds to over 561,000 inquiries a year while its website receives approximately 33,000 hits a month placing it in the top three to five placements of all world-wide search engines.

The Chamber’s new regional, 2,000 sq. ft. I-5 facility houses a spectrum of offices for the Chamber’s growing staff and features a regional Visitor Information Center – staffed by community volunteers, and an Entrepreneurial Business Development Center – staffed by SBA and NW Women’s Business Center professionals. The Chamber’s Executive Conference Room is used by businesses and community organizations from throughout Snohomish, King and Skagit counties.

She has served in a variety of leadership roles on Boards and Commission throughout Snohomish County and the state of Washington.   She currently serves on the Boards of the Association of Washington Business, the Economic Development Council of Snohomish County and Snohomish County Citizens for Improved Transportation (SCCIT).  She Co-Chairs Snohomish County’s SnoGold 2010 Tourism Committee, serves on the state’s 2010 Olympics’ Tourism Sub-Committee and Marysville’s Graffiti Task Force Committee.  She has served on the Washington Chamber of Commerce Executives (WCCE) Board, Marysville Economic Revitalization Commission, Quil Ceda Village Business Council, Snohomish County’s Citizens’ Commission on Salaries of Elected Officials, Marysville Adult Entertainment Commission and the Marysville School District’s School-to-Work Partnership Team.

On four separate occasions, her Chamber has won first place for “Projects That Mobilize People and Move Communities Forward” from the state’s Association of Washington Business – an unprecedented record for that organization.  She has won national awards from the American Chamber of Commerce Communication’s Council for first place in graphic design and writing; from the United States Chamber of Commerce for top in the nation for Membership Retention.  She was named Outstanding First-Year Chamber Executive from the Washington State Chamber of Commerce Executives in 1993, and received honors from former President George Bush, as Chairman of Snohomish County’s Human Services Commission for Project Self-Sufficiency, a program that became a national role model for breaking the cycle of poverty for welfare mothers.

A graduate of the University of Washington, she served as a Russian Linguist for the United States Army Security Agency at the end of the Viet Nam era. She began her chamber career in 1986 and went on to earn her Masters degree from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute of Organizational Management out of the University of Delaware in 1993.

Biography for Kimberlie Ritchey -Director of Administration

Kimberlie Ritchey has over 20 years of experience working with computer operations, training and technical support.  She developed her technical skills at companies such as Intel, Central Point Software, and Symantec, as well as setting up information systems and developing records management software and websites for startup companies and her own consulting business.  She frequently has been able to combine her passion for writing and fascination with technology by writing technical manuals, training programs, user articles and more in almost every position worked at.

For Intel she provided computer system support, installation, and repair for the Mobile Modules Operations group that was designing new mobile computer technology, including network configuration issues, software difficulties, data recovery, and virus control.  While serving this group she was responsible for purchasing & tracking all of the department’s PC hardware, software, and lab equipment.  To improve efficiency and record-keeping, she developed two MS Access databases, one to track inventory and purchase orders, another devoted to research for the Marketing group. After these databases were successfully deployed, management requested the development of a DCN (Design Change Notification) database using Access 4.0 for MMO group that would allow for multi-user access (50+) and installations, using Access Toolkit to split database into a front / back end application, and create a stand-alone installable application.

At Central Point Software, prior to it being bought out by Symantec, her senior level technical skills promoted her into an elite group that was responsible for providing written technical support for software applications that was published on CompuServe, America Online, and the company’s own BBS.  Her diplomatic yet firm methods of maintaining civility and balance between often hostile users in public forums earned her the nickname of the “Velvet Hammer” from company management.  Products supported included tools for Data Recovery, Anti Virus, Backup, System Utilities, Scripting Language, and more.  She also participated in software beta-testing and documentation review prior to the release of new products.

For the past four years at the Chamber, Kimberlie has processed the financial data, managed the membership database, maintained and upgraded the organization’s computer systems and software processes, coordinated and maintained the development of the company’s website, making it a leader in all world-wide search engines, as well as providing administrative support to the Chamber President.
