    $82,000 - $142,000 annually
    The successful candidate will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary level based on their qualifications (education and experience).
     
    This position provides analysis in support of planning the electric transmission system. Responsibilities include setting long-term strategy to ensure that the electric system is capable of reliably and cost-effectively serving present and future load, as well as developing programs and internal controls to maintain and demonstrate compliance with NERC reliability standards. Tasks include powerflow model management and updates, system analysis under normal, contingency, present, and anticipated conditions to identify system deficiencies: identify options to improve performance of the system; and develop capital plans to construct necessary infrastructure. Participate in small area forecast development to identify areas of higher load growth. Perform system impact studies for interconnection of generation or large loads to the system.
    Minimum Qualifications:
    Engineer Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering; and, 4 years directly related engineering experience and FE** or EIT; or 6 years related engineering experience; and, *Must have demonstrated the successful accomplishment of work of the nature defined for this job level, “Engineer”. OR Washington State Professional Engineer License (PE), or ability to obtain through reciprocity; and, 8 years directly related engineering experience, 4 of which are performed at an electric utility.
    Professional Engineer: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering; and, 6 years related engineering experience, with 2 of those years as a Lead or Project Engineer; and, *Must have demonstrated the successful accomplishment of work of the nature defined for this job level, “Professional Engineer”. OR 10 years directly related engineering experience, 5 of which are performed at an electric or water utility; and, *Must have demonstrated the successful accomplishment of work of the nature defined for this job level, “Engineer”.  License or Certification: Washington State Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
    Principal Engineer: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering. 9 years of progressive applicable engineering experience, 3 years of which are in a project engineer/lead engineer capacity in the electric or water utility engineering field. License or Certification: Washington State Professional Engineering License.
