Endorsement Policy
The Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce does not endorse or become identified with any other organization or individual unless specifically authorized by the Chamber's Board to do so. No such authorization will be made unless the other organization is found to be necessary to the furtherance of the goals of the Chamber.
Test of Relevance
Before the Chamber Board may take a position on, expend resources for, or include an issue in its Action Plan, the issue must be tested for relevance to the Chamber's overall mission to improve the economic vitality of the Marysville and Tulalip areas and business community.
- Does the issue comply with the Mission Statement of the Chamber?
- Is the issue business oriented, having an impact on the broad base of business in the Marysville Tulalip area?
- Is involvement with the issue cost effective?
- Is involvement with the issue a duplication of effort?
- The Chamber may act on an issue individually or in cooperation with another organization if it may be demonstrated that its participation will enhance the efforts but should avoid being duplicative of other organizations or individuals.
- Has the issue been considered by the appropriate committees and task forces of the Chamber? Action on an issue must be approved by the Board of Directors, including public pronouncements, positions, expenditure of, or the obligation of funds.
Process
This process requires an adequate time frame. A written request outlining the project and its goals needs to be submitted to the Chamber two months prior to the project date. Upon receipt, the request is sent to committee and reviewed for relevance. If the request meets the above requirements, the committee then issues a position recommendation for Board action. This package is mailed to the Board ten days prior to its meeting allowing time for analysis by Board members.
